Secondary & Sixth Form Intent

Our Business curriculum prepares students for university and to be leaders in their community by:

  • Linking theoretical knowledge with context to help students make sense of the Business world.
  • Focusing on fundamental literacy and numeracy skills required in a professional environment.
  • Facilitating discussion, enabling students to develop critical thinking skills.

The Business Curriculum encompasses the total experience of the student, covering a range of activities from what is learnt in the classroom to our expectations of how our students carry themselves, and make decisions, outside of it. The pastoral and academic curriculum is met through use of real-life case studies and active talk to allow students to build on their theoretical understanding of business concepts. Additionally, extra-curricular visits and trips are set up across the Business curriculum. These align with the respective GCSE and BTEC curriculums for KS4 and KS5 whilst other trips supplement our work readiness curriculum preparing students for University and beyond.

We link our curriculums in KS4 and KS5 to various careers that our students can then pursue, ranging from finance, marketing, HR to entrepreneurship and others.
