Ark Globe Junior Boys (Year 7 and 8) athletics team won the London, Herts and Middlesex regional final to qualify for the national final of English Schools Track & Field Cup with the 2nd highest points total in the country! This was no easy feat, as there are over 3,500 secondary schools, and our students defeated a host of established state, grammar and independent schools to secure their spot in the finals.
These students are shining examples of living the Ark Globe ‘Culture Pyramid’, exuding professionalism and growth mindset. The team achieve their goals by demonstrating commitment, determination, and resilience. Our success is a consequence of the support from not only our dedicated PE department but also our wider staff community including our catering team who create scientifically nutritious smoothies ensuring our students have the energy they need to perform their best.
This achievement has confirmed what our Executive Principal Mr Matt Jones OBE believes “Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is too thinly spread. However, it is still possible to achieve elite level performance (in every aspect of education) with hard work, the right support and setting ambitious objectives. This wonderful achievement demonstrates that children from Ark Globe Academy can compete with the very best, not only in academics, but also on the sports field.” Something that the Globe community aspire to do every single day.
