In just a few short weeks, tens of thousands of runners will take to the streets of the capital for one of the most iconic endurance events in the world — the 2025 TCS London Marathon — and among them will be two inspiring individuals running on behalf of Ark Globe Academy.

We are proud to be cheering on Kayleigh Skelton and Josh Sharman, who are both taking on the 26.2-mile challenge to raise vital funds to support our students and community.

Meet Kayleigh: Running Again After 14 Years

Kayleigh, a dedicated member of staff at Ark Blacklands Primary Academy in Hastings, is no stranger to the London Marathon. It’s been 14 years since she last ran the race, but when the opportunity came up through Ark to take part again, she jumped at the chance.

“The atmosphere whilst running the streets of London and the sense of achievement is something I have never forgotten,” she says. “When I got the call just before Christmas to say I’d been selected, I was speechless — but my trainers were straight back on, and my training plan started a few days later.”

Although she works at a different Ark school, Kayleigh chose to run for Ark Globe Academy. Her fundraising will go directly towards initiatives that support student wellbeing, making a tangible difference in young people’s lives.

Meet Josh: First-Time Marathoner and Longtime Supporter

For Josh Sharman, this year’s marathon will be a brand-new experience. As a governor at Ark Globe Academy, Josh has seen firsthand the transformative impact that education can have, and he’s using his first-ever marathon to raise funds for the school he proudly supports.

“Ark Globe is more than just a school — it’s a vibrant, ambitious community that gives every student the opportunity to thrive, no matter their background,” Josh explains. “Every mile I run is a step towards more enrichment, more resources, and more opportunities for our students to grow and succeed.”

Despite the physical demands of training, Josh says that the mission behind the run keeps him focused: ensuring every student at Ark Globe has the tools, experiences and support they need to flourish — both in the classroom and beyond.
