Year 13

Sixth Form Intent

Our Psychology curriculum prepares our students for university and to be leaders in their community by:

  1. Giving them an in-depth understanding of the empirical methods and the features of science, so they can determine what constitutes a science and what doesn’t.
  2. Giving them knowledge of the different schools of Psychology and their theories for what causes behaviour (biology, environment, unconscious thoughts, cognition), allowing them to analyse and interpret human behaviour through a variety of lenses.
  3. Giving them the skills to design and evaluate a variety of research methods used in Psychology from experimental to non-experimental methods.

So that students can better understand themselves, understand others and explain the variety of causes of human behaviour to better understand the world.
