Sixth Form Intent
Our Psychology curriculum prepares our students for university and to be leaders in their community by:
- Giving them an in-depth understanding of the empirical methods and the features of science, so they can determine what constitutes a science and what doesn’t.
- Giving them knowledge of the different schools of Psychology and their theories for what causes behaviour (biology, environment, unconscious thoughts, cognition), allowing them to analyse and interpret human behaviour through a variety of lenses.
- Giving them the skills to design and evaluate a variety of research methods used in Psychology from experimental to non-experimental methods.
So that students can better understand themselves, understand others and explain the variety of causes of human behaviour to better understand the world.
