Competing against the strongest school athletics teams in the country, our students delivered an exceptional performance on the national stage. The result is particularly significant given that there are more than 4,200 schools in England, with Ark Globe standing as the only school from Central London to qualify for this year's final.
The achievement continues a remarkable period of success for the academy's athletics programme. This year marks the third time in the last four years that an Ark Globe athletics team has reached a national final, demonstrating the consistency and strength of athletics across the school.
The national final appearance crowns an exceptional season for Ark Globe athletes. In 2026, the school produced:
- Eight London Schools Champions
- Four athletes selected to represent London Schools including two athletes selected for the Combined Events London team, which also qualified for the national finals
- 33 Southwark School Champions
- Globe athletes secured wins in a third of the events at Southwark schools Athletics Championships
To compete among England's top schools and secure a place in the nation's top ten is a testament to the dedication, perseverance and ambition shown by our students throughout the year. Their commitment to training and competition reflects the values that underpin sport at Ark Globe: professionalism, growth mindset and integrity.
The athletes' success is also a reflection of the support provided by staff, coaches and families, whose encouragement helps create opportunities for students to thrive both on and off the track.
We are immensely proud of our Junior Girls Athletics Team and all the athletes who have represented Ark Globe this year. Their achievements continue to raise the profile of school sport and inspire younger students to pursue their own sporting ambitions.
