Year 7 Knowledge Organisers
Before each half term, we provide you with key knowledge, in the form of knowledge organisers (which are topic summaries), that you will need for your subjects in the half term ahead. Key words and terms are defined and key information is explained.
Students should use these knowledge organisers to prepare for their learning and revisit learning.
How should you use the knowledge organisers?
READ A SECTION
Study a section of the page and focus on 5-10 pieces of information. These could be definitions of words, questions and answers or a diagram. Reading aloud can help with memorising the information.
COVER IT UP
Cover up the information you have just learnt.
RECALL THE KNOWLEDGE
When the knowledge is covered up, write down or say the 5-10 pieces of inform you studied.
CHECK THE KNOWLEDGE
Look back at the 5-10 pieces of information and check what you got right.
REPEAT THE PROCESS
This is the MOST IMPORTANT bit. Repeat the process with the same information and different information on the knowledge organisers.
You should repeat the process around 5 times to secure the knowledge.
