Year 6 Poetry SLAM

Monday 09 January 2017

Year 6 have been developing their poetry skills and writing their own SLAM Poetry. The secondary school held their first poetry slam last year and this year primary pupils have been taking to the stage!

Slam Poetry is performed without props, costumes, or music and the work that children produced has been of an exceptional standard. Sixteen children in total were chosen to perform to Miss Rigby from the Secondary English Department in a final slam.

The poets were outstanding and it was an extremely tough decision to choose only four winners. Miss Rigby said that the children had a natural talent for writing poetry and has invited them to participate in a workshop with Globe Poets. The winning four were: Keaun, Victor, Tasmia and

Congratulations to everyone who participated!
