Wednesday 08 January 2020

As part of their topic of Kings and Queens and the Great Fire of London, Year 2s went to the thousand-year-old castle known as the Tower of London. Year 2s had the pleasure of discovering the secure fortress, royal palace and infamous prison. They saw the Crown Jewels, royal armouries and learnt about royal beasts.

Students also participated in a workshop in which they learnt about key features of the Great Fire of London. They were able to compare and contrast life today with life in the 1600s and discover more about Samuel Pepys and his written record of events. During the session, students participated in role play to bring the story of the Great Fire of London to life. Year 2s had so much fun at the Tower of London!
