Mr Whitehead to run the 40th London Marathon

Our Head of Key Stage 4 and music teacher Mr Whitehead has signed up for an exciting challenge — he will run the London Marathon in support of Ark Globe! Following on from the last two years, the academy has secured another guaranteed place at the London Marathon. This is going to be one of the biggest sporting events of the year, as London Marathon is celebrating its 40th anniversary. We are honoured to have a place at this historic race and we thank our partner, London Marathon, for their prestigious gift to our school community.

Mr Whitehead has been preparing for the marathon for over a year. He is currently training with the full support of the Running Club, despite the cold weather. His big fundraising event will be the Festive Concert, which he is looking forward to. He said: “I feel confident and quite excited about running the London Marathon for Ark Globe Academy. Of course, there is a big pressure, because I want to do as well as Mr Edwards, who ran the marathon last year with a great finishing time. I would like to thank everyone in advance for their support!“ We wish Mr Whitehead the best of luck. If you would like to support him, please get in touch with us via info@arkglobe.org
