Globe Academy celebrates increase in GCSE results

Friday 20 September 2013

Globe Academy is pleased to announce that the number of pupils achieving 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths at GCSE has increased from 45% to 52%. This is a consequence of an administrative oversight in relation to coursework and the exam board. We are thrilled with this improvement which means a significant number of our pupils will now have access to a wider range of post 16 courses.  This increase of 7 percentage points in one year represents excellent progression for Globe in comparison to the national average of a 1 percentage point increase per year.

Globe Academy Principal Matt Jones said: “We are delighted with this progression in results. A 7 percentage point increase in one year is a significant improvement and is an important milestone in our journey to becoming a beacon of excellence in education. I would like to congratulate and thank all of the students, parents and staff for all their hard work and commitment to help achieve these results.”
