Fantastic Christmas performances across the academy

Wednesday 16 December 2015

Students from across the primary and secondary school have been exhibiting their acting, dancing and singing skills in a number of Christmas performances to end the term on a high note.

Key Stage 2 pupils kicked off this run of shows with a wonderful performance of the 'Magical Christmas Jigsaw' by Mary Green and Julie Stanley which told the story of Christmas with a modern twist. All of Key Stage 2 were involved either by singing in the choir, making the set or performing a main role and pulled off a polished performance in front of a proud audience.

Next it was our Early Years turn to shine in their presentation of 'The Dinosaur Nativity' in which even the three year olds performed. It was a fantastic success and had a warm response from our parents. The pupils really enjoyed the experience and they did fantastically well. Miss Saunders, our amazing Art Teacher did phenomenally well getting all the pupils involved with the costumes and set design.

The final performance was an all singing, dancing and acting extravaganza with our students performing a play,'Twas the Night Before Christmas' written by our own Drama Teacher, Ms Stillwel  which featured Ark Globe Academy's own re-enactment of this year's famous Christmas John Lewis advert. The performance included our string and brass ensemble accompanying some fantastic soloists and the choir in well known Christmas favourites. The audience were also wowed by the dance and gymnastic skills of our students which saw one girl on point and a couple of boys doing back flips, both of which are extroadinary skills. This year the audience could also purchase VIP tickets which gave them priority seating and table service of mince pies, soft drinks and vegetarian snacks which had been made by our students.

Congratulations to all students and staff involved in all performances for putting in so much hard work to produce such brilliant shows!
