Exploring WWI battlefields in Belgium and France

Monday 08 April 2019

Three of our students, who won a creative competition back in November commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, went on a trip to the battlefields of Belgium and France. Through this event, they explored the First World War and the impacts it had on people and the world.

On their 4-day journey, they visited sites like Passchendaele, the Menin Gate, and the Newfoundland Memorial at the Lijssenthoek Cemetery. They haven’t forgotten their local community during this trip: at Tyne Cot the students lay memorial crosses for W. Bosley, a local soldier from near Ark Globe.
