We had a fantastic Sports Day in June with a first of Ark Globe history: Elbrus won the cup for the first time! In the previous 3 years, McKinley has won the cup by reaching the highest points combined all branches. Despite the heat in Croydon Arena, the competition between McKinley and Elbrus got even greater this year. Elbrus made 20,110 points as the team whereas McKinley’s points stayed at 17,439.

This year, the Year 8 Elite Athlete boys (Alie, Yacou, Amin and Devontae) won the 4x100m Staff vs Students race, beating three staff teams, Yr10 boys team and Sixth Form team!

The overall winners for Best Sportsman and Sportswoman for each year group were:

Well done to all of the students who competed, congratulations to Team Elbrus on winning the cup and a big thank you to PE team, without whom the event would not have been possible. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all students, staff and parents who attended.
