ARK Globe Academy posted strong GCSE results today, with some students doing particularly well.

Isaac Akintaro passed 12 GCSEs with 5 A*s, 5 As and 2 Bs, including A*s in maths, further maths, science and computer science. He wants to go to university to study engineering after getting his A-levels.

“Engineering looks at the resources that people have in their area and at the technologies that can be used to improve their lives. That’s what I want to do.

“ARK Globe Academy has helped me out massively. I look back at the person I was and I can’t believe how much I’ve changed. I wasn’t as focused as I am now on my education. Here there is more discipline, but there are also more opportunities. It’s more positive and more upbeat.”

Also celebrating was Hafizah who said “I had butterflies in my tummy when I went in to get my results but now I’m so happy. I worked so hard and I feel like it’s paid off. Mum was screaming ‘I’m so proud’ down the phone.”

ARK Globe Academy is opening a new sixth form this September, giving the school even more cause for celebration.

Matt Jones, Principal of ARK Globe Academy said “These are very pleasing and the best ever set of GCSE results by ARK Globe Academy. The results achieved will set up our students well for their futures and our new Sixth Form. It is really good for Globe to have an improvement in results considering some of the issues that some schools have faced with recent changes in GCSE exams.”

Overall 55% of students at ARK Globe Academy achieved at least 5 A*-C grades including English and mathematics
